Detroit Lions Big Winners today!
Breaking News!:
The Detroit Lions, and their Fans, Scored a huge win last night with the dismissal/firing of Matt Millen (finally!) I hope the door hits him in the a$$ on his way out!
Pride cometh before the fall they say...and Detroit is purging itself....First Kwame Kilpatrick, and now Matt Millen are gone! This is almost as good as a Super-Bowl win!
Even better than this is the fact that the only real sporting event resumes tonight....HOCKEY! RedWings VS Montreal. Go Wings!
And I wanna be a corporate CEO
You could never be a new lawyer with 143 days of experience and become a partner in my law firm.
You can't even get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.
There is no way you could become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.
You can't get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.
You couldn't join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.
You would never be able to get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.
BUT....
From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged a whopping 143 days of 'experience' in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working to the day he made his annoucement.
After 143 days of work 'experience,' Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World .... yup, made that determiniation all by hisself after 143 days.
Granted, We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is - a start.
Heres the real bizzare thing.....Strangely, a large sector of the
American public is okay with this and actively campaigning for Osama
Obama. We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some are
okay with his qualifications, or lack of them, for the President of the
United States of America? Sheeeesh

What's Wrong with this Picture?
The price for a barrel of Crude Oil today was around $92.00. Gas, per gallon, at least here in Michigan, was between $4.15 and $4.19 today.
If one looks at the Crude Oil per barrel cost VS Gas per gallon cost history over the past year, something is terribly amiss....Look at the chart below:
At the crude price of today, with history as the record, we should be only paying about $3.25 a gallon for gas. That's 94 cents a gallon too much! Bend over and grab your ankles people cause were all getting screwed!

Accuracy in the media?
I hate it when reporters in the media use obviously fake and staged photos. It is a blatant attempt by the media to artificially inflate crisis and create "oh-my-god! type emotional knee-jerk reactions by the viewers and/or readers of the news.
The latest media outlet to fall victim and use, what I believe is, a staked/fake photo that attempts to make current conditions appear worse that they are is none other than The Drudge Report.
Here is the image that is currently on their page as of 9/13/2008 2:35p.m (EST):
(Click on image for complete screen capture)
Readers, do not misunderstand, the events unfolding down in Texas from hurricane Ike are bad. However, I believe it shows lack of professionalism on any media outlet that uses fake or staged imagery to create an emotional response to a natural disaster or any other tragic event.

Be the Party
The witch-hunt-trial, Sarah Palin, hysteria of the past two weeks reveals a disturbing trend among Liberals & the media, one that has only worsened over the past decade.
Liberals & the media elite are quick to attack the religiosity and pro-life stance of Conservatives, yet they fail to realize that their own ideology itself has become a secular quasi-substitute religion. Since when did they become so judgmental and intolerant? Conservatives, particularly pro-life religious conservatives, are demonized by them, as they try to polarize the universe into a great galatic battle of us versus them, good versus evil. Their (Liberals & the medias) big problem, one they fail to realize and fully understand, Is that they cling to pat group opinions as if they were inflexible moral absolutes.
Liberals & their allies in the media are in peril because they refuse to observe and listen and adapt to changing social circumstances. Not until they stringently re-examine their own assumptions and rhetorical formulas will it they be able to deal effectively with the enduring, forward thinking and now escalating, challenge of conservatives.
It is counterproductive for Liberals & the media elite to imagine that pro-life, conservative, religious values can be defeated by angrily and maliciously destroying their proponents.
It is equally foolish to expect that feminism must for all time be wed to the pro-choice agenda. There is plenty of room in modern thought for a pro-life feminism and, like it or not, Sarah Palin proves that point. That, my friends, is why she appeals more to women and women voters than Hillary ever could. Not only is she a pro-life, religious, fiscally responsible, feminist conservative, but she shows that you can be all those things and still be and have fun. That's something the Liberals and their lap dogs in the media could never do.

From the Mailbag
World History 101
For those of you who slept through World History 101 here is a condensed version.
Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter. The two most important events in all of history were:
1. The invention of beer, and
2. The invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer, and the beer to the man.
These facts formed the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:
1. Liberals
2. Conservatives.
Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.
Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.
Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.
Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men.
Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy and group hugs, the evolution of the Hollywood actor, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide all the meat and beer that conservatives provided.
Over the years, Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.
Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most liberal women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals.
Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, firemen, lumberjacks, construction workers, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, Marines, and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.
Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America. They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more of spmething for nothing.
Here ends today's lesson in world history.
It should be noted that a liberal, who claim to be all compassionate and caring, will angrily respond to the above and proceed to trash and denegrate the author.
A conservative will simply laugh because of the absolute truth of it all.

Note to ALL political parties
A Hurricane of any size or magnitude is NOT a political event, it is a people event. A Hurricane does not care about your Race, Religion or Political affiliation. So all you politicos out there, all you Michael Moore types, who are saying that a Hurricane striking before or during the Republican convention is "proof there is a God in heaven", do us all a favor and follow the advice of this:
I mean, really, is any natural disaster a time to create division or is it an oppurtunity to set aside differrences and present a united front? I think you already know my answer to that.
UPDATE: Now, if you ask me, and I know you have not but I'm gonna tell you any-way, Hurricane Gustave's devastaing winds sparing New Orleans as the core of storm "veered away from New Orleans" as it approached the coast is proof there is a God in Heaven and one who who has heard, and answered, the prayers of hundreds, thousand, no, millions of people across this country who prayed that New Orleans would be spared. I don't know about you, but, I'm pretty thatful for that!
